Turn your word list into flashcards
Paste the list you already have, or pick a file. You see how each line was split into word and translation before anything is added, and fix it if it's wrong. AI fills in what's missing only if you ask.
How to make flashcards from a word list
- 1
Paste your list or pick a file
One word or phrase per line, with its translation on the same line if you have one. Paste it, or choose a .txt, .csv, .tsv or .md file of up to 1 MB.
- 2
Check how each line was split
The preview shows every line as a word and its translation. Swap sides, split on another character, keep each line whole or mark the first line as a heading. Words already in the deck are flagged, and a line that can't be added says why.
- 3
Add the cards
Pick a deck or start a new one, and add the list exactly as you wrote it, with no AI credits spent. Or have AI fill in missing translations and add part of speech, register, context and examples – that part uses credits.
What you get
Import a word list
Paste a list or upload a .txt, .csv, .tsv or .md file and check how each line was split before anything is added. A plain import uses no credits; AI can fill in missing details afterwards.
Fill in missing translations and details
For cards that arrived bare, from a plain import or a quick manual add, fill in missing translations or add part of speech, register, context and examples, for one card or many at once.
Free, with monthly AI credits
Decks, cards and learning are free and unlimited, with no paywall. AI-written cards, filled-in details and Ask AI use credits from a free allowance that refills every 30 days. Running out never stops you studying.
Edit any card yourself
Every card in your decks opens in the same editor: change the word, its translation, pronunciation, examples and details by hand, then save. AI can redo the pronunciation, translate or write an example when you ask, but nothing needs it.
Six levels of spaced repetition
Each card climbs from Learning through Familiar, Confident and Strong to Mastered, coming back after a longer gap each time you remember it and dropping to Learning when you miss it. An in-app explainer shows how.
No self-grading buttons
There are no Again, Hard, Good or Easy buttons to judge yourself with. The schedule is worked out from how you answer flashcards, and a wrong quiz or gap-fill answer never counts against you.
Good to know
- AI features draw on a free allowance that refills every 30 days; when it runs out, AI writing pauses until it refills, and learning carries on.
FAQ
Paste text from anywhere, or pick a .txt, .csv, .tsv or .md file of up to 1 MB. Vocards works out the separator for you: a tab, semicolon, comma, vertical bar, a dash or = with spaces around it, or a colon followed by a space. A third column becomes an example sentence. Word documents, spreadsheets and PDFs can't be read – save them as text or CSV, or copy the text and paste it.
Start with the words you already have
Paste your list, check the split and start learning. AI helps if you want it, and every card stays yours to edit by hand.
